Every great brand begins with a story—and at ARW Offroad & Performance, ours is one of transforming loss into purpose and passion into possibility.
Like many kids from the 1970s, Mike and Chris Witt grew up outdoors—drinking from the hose, riding three-wheelers and dirt bikes, and learning to fix things with whatever tools they had. Those early days of adventure and hands-on problem solving built the foundation for a lifelong love of all things mechanical, adrenaline, and exploration.
As teenagers, their passion only grew—whether it was jumping bike ramps, racing jet-skis and cars, or snowboarding, they discovered a deep appreciation for technical skill, control, and pushing limits. That spirit naturally evolved into a love for off-road rock crawling—a sport that demands precision, patience, and perseverance. It’s an experience you can’t truly understand until you try it, and for Mike and Chris, it became a defining part of who they are.
Family Legacy
In 2013, life changed forever. The brothers faced the unimaginable—losing their father, Ronald Allen Witt, and later that same year, Mike’s son, Arie Ronald Witt. While these moments were difficult, they became the spark that ignited an exciting new beginning.
Around the holidays, filled with thoughts of their loved ones, the brothers realized there were more important things in life than desk jobs and routine paychecks. They chose to channel their grief into something meaningful—something that could bring happiness to both them and their customers, carrying forward their family’s spirit of adventure, resilience, and living a life without limits.
ARW Offroad & Performance was born as more than just a business—it became a way to carry their names forward, honor family, embrace adventure, and live life without limits.
New Beginning
That vision became reality in January 2014 with the founding of ARW Offroad & Performance, created in memory of Arie and Ronald Witt. For Mike and Chris, it wasn’t just the start of a business—it was the beginning of a living legacy and a new direction, built on family, passion, and the drive to do meaningful work.
At the time, Mike was already established in global logistics, while Chris brought more than 20 years of experience in the high-performance automotive industry. Chris’s career began in the aftermarket speed world, where a simple shipping mistake—an unexpected truckload of Jeep exhaust kits—revealed just how big the Jeep community truly was. That moment made it clear there was an opportunity: a Jeep-focused shop that could blend performance, fabrication, and passion into something greater.
With their combined skills and determination, the brothers launched ARW Offroad & Performance. Their very first bumper customer was West Coast Customs, built for the iconic Rocketbyz Jeep. From there, ARW began producing bumpers and custom Jeeps for Santa Monica Jeeps and quickly earned recognition across the off-road community.
Growth & Opportunity
For the Witt family, ARW has always been about more than products. It’s about family, friends, and lifestyle. The shop gives the team the chance to spend time doing what they love, enjoy the outdoors, and help others do the same—whether it’s through a custom build, a trail-ready Jeep, or an overland rig designed for the long haul.
In March 2023, ARW welcomed the next generation when their nephew, Justin Witt, joined the team. After serving eight years in the Air National Guard as an F-16 engine mechanic, Justin brought his mechanical experience, passion for Jeeps, and off-road background into the shop. His time in Arizona introduced him to desert wheeling, overlanding culture, and Jeep life in the Southwest. After moving back to Texas, he turned that passion into a career with ARW.

We’re equally known for building head-turning custom Jeeps that showcase both performance and style, reflecting the same passion we put into our own rigs.
